Someone just asked me what I meant by "sweet, plum oolong teas." Does it have sugar in it? No! It is not sweetened. (By a sweet tea I mean naturally scented or flavored with dried fruit or blossoms.) If there is one thing I despise about tea, it's when someone sweetens it. Coffee must be sweet (in my humble opinion) but not tea. That's my biggest complaint about Teavana stores is all their sample teas are sweetened - eew!
My other tea complaint? Most teabags. Did you know most teabags contain the dust, or fannings, left over when tea is processed? It's too small to be be used elsewhere so they blow, or fan, it into a collection unit and then package it in teabags.
One of the very few teabag oolongs I have found that I really like is Revolution's Dragon Eye Oolong Tea. "Somewhere between a green and a black tea, Dragon Eye Oolong begins with the finest quality Oolong tea available. This smooth, well-rounded elixir blends smoky Chinese oolong with safflower, peach and apricots." It's a premium full, or whole, leaf and not the fannings. It's very convenient for work and I keep a few in my purse so when I eat out I can have good tea instead the stale teabag I am usually offered.
