To bergamot or not to bergamot

After spending so much time thinking and writing about bergamot yesterday, I went home and drank one of the two bergamot teas I have ever liked, Octavia Tea's Lemongrass Oolong. (The other was an Earl Grey from a store in Tucson about 15 years ago.) According to Octavia Tea's site: "This award-winning blend of lemongrass, bergamot & antioxidant-rich oolong tea fills your cup with the invigorating fragrance of citrus. This natural, gourmet tea is the ideal way to rejuvenate both body & mind.
"This lively blend lifts your spirits and seems to magically increase your energy with its fragrance alone. Lemongrass Oolong won the best hot tea award 3 years in a row. This tea is also excellect (sic) on ice."
I think if I was listing the ingredients I'd put bergamot last because it is very light. I can taste it but I don't get the itchy chin (my asthma trigger signal) that I do with most bergamot teas. I picked this gem up at The Urban Tea Loft in Chandler, Ariz.

This morning I indulged in some Foojoy Gold Royal Red Robe Oolong (Da Hong Pao). I get it at a local Chinese grocery but you can also get it online through Mark T. Wendell. "Perhaps the best known rock tea from the Wuyi Mountains in the Chinese Fujian province, this tea is a rare find. It brews an amber cup that almost startles with its aroma and smooth finish." (A word of warning: I like this Foojoy loose leaf tea but their teabags I tried weren't nearly as good.)
